Impact Assessment

Impact Assessment

By concentrating on Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) of organizations, products, and waste in general, Circular Plastic Institute is dedicated to strengthening our ability to support businesses and institutions within Pakistan’s plastics industry. Our data-driven approach helps in policy development across various sectors, focusing on the transition from linear to circular economies in plastics production and management within the country. Our future goals involve identifying the footprints of specific plastic products and processes in Pakistan to establish a well-defined database for the future decisions makers of the country in establishing regulations for the plastic industry, ultimately driving sustainable change in the industry and contributing to a greener future for the nation.

CPI assists independent organisations and institutions in evaluating the environmental impact of various factors through Lifecycle Analysis. Assessment is data-driven and helps in policy building through a range of sectors in both the circular and linear economy, while also identifying footprints of specific or general products and processes.

Circular product and system design

Circular product and system design

We promote circularity in building design, products, and services. Our primary focus is on circularity in the industrial workflow, especially with the circular economy of plastics. CPI promotes sustainable design and practices relying on self-sustaining financial and operational models.

Circular procurement

Circular procurement

In both developing and developed cities, quantifying and data extrapolation of contemporary cities’
metabolism can have a significant effect in veering a sustainable economy. Mapping of critical
factors such as waste flows and material recovery, skilled and non-skilled workforces, conventional
industrial practices, and understanding all can empower key decision makers in building refined
policies governing the urban cycle and a robust circular economy.

Sector Analysis

Through our integrated study & research approach, we can help identify value chains, and potential risks and opportunities, especially in fragmented markets and industries across Pakistan. Our sector analyses help keeping inform policy makers, businesses, and stakeholders on opportunities and challenges in the plastic sector, guiding them towards a sustainable future.

Packaging and plastics strategies

We understand the importance of sustainable plastic packaging practices for the longevity of businesses and the planet as a whole. We help organizations achieve sustainability commitments. Our expertise lies in reinventing product design, assessing the holistic impact of packaging materials, and developing circular packaging strategies.

Baseline and feasibility analysis

As part of our commitment in bringing plastic circularity in Pakistan, CPI holds the capacity to thoroughly conduct baseline and feasibility analyses. These analyses are essential in understanding the fundamental functioning of circular economy in the country; particularly, considering the informal plastic and waste management sectors in Pakistan.

To make feasibility analyses workable for stakeholders, we thoroughly assess Pakistan’s current plastic sphere– backed by factual data and research anecdotes – including production, consumption, waste management practices, and public awareness. This allows us to identify challenges and opportunities unique  to the country. By focusing on the feasibility of proposed solutions and exploring potential collaborations, we ensure that our interventions are effective, sustainable, and contribute to a plastic-free future in Pakistan.

Supply chain analysis

By thorough evaluation of all the supply chain stages- including production, logistics, consumption, waste handling, and recycling- identification of key areas of improvement can be made in achieving circular economy within the industry. We also focus on complex web of processes and stakeholders in the informal sector, and by using a data-driven approach and understanding ground practices, we tend to achieve accuracy and relevance in defining the studies and analyses. Our goal is to help organizations adopt sustainable practices and circular business models, fostering partnerships to drive positive change in the industry.
